Double braided

Double braided ropes for sailing, construction, industry and agriculture

Double braided lines refer to ropes that have a core that is over-braided with a cover. Often, the core and cover are made from different materials. By combining various materials and structures, specific properties can be imparted to the ropes. For example, one might have Dyneema or rubber in the core with a polyester cover. Polyester is commonly used in the outer cover to provide a good and durable surface layer that has excellent resistance to moisture, abrasion, chemicals, temperature and sunlight. The core typically uses materials with special properties to create a rope with high flexibility, minimal elongation, or extra high tensile strength. These lines are especially useful as halyards and sheet lines, slurry lines, drag lines in construction and industry and as winch lines.
