Decor and railing ropes

Rope for enclosures, fences, stairs, railings and barriers.

In this category, we have gathered ropes and cordage commonly used for staircase railings, handrails, rope fences, barriers, enclosures, restaurants and rope railings. All these ropes are comfortable to handle, which is essential for these applications. These ropes are often used with rope fittings for neat finishes. Ropes for stair railings and enclosures must withstand UV, moisture, wear and still look good. Our hawsers are made from fine, durable yarns that are also pleasant to hold.

Decorline is made from 100% polypropylene multifilament. The multifilament material makes the rope soft to hold and handle. The 3- and 4-strand construction ensures a good grip, even in wet conditions. Decorline is specifically designed for use in enclosures and entrances at restaurants, museums, outdoor cafés and other public spaces. Decorline is also used as handrails and railings for stairs, piers and patios. Made from 100% PP, it has excellent resistance to moisture and rot. The UV resistance is good, meaning both the rope and the color hold up well outdoors.

Hemp is a natural material that is very popular for use in rope railings and rope fences. Unlike Hampex and Decorline, it is made from natural hemp, which means its resistance to moisture, sunlight and rot is limited. When used outdoors, it’s advisable to bring the rope inside during winter to extend its lifespan. The rope comes in various sizes and provides a beautiful, traditional look.

Hampex, along with Decorline, is a bestseller when it comes to rope fences, enclosures, stair railings, handrails and barriers. Hampex is designed to resemble natural hemp but offers the superior strength and weather resistance of synthetic materials. It is very difficult to distinguish between real hemp and Hampex, making it a popular decorative element in environments where a natural look is desired. The rope is comfortable to handle and hold.

Manila is made from 100% natural fiber. Manila is produced from coarse fibers that feel rough to the touch, making it unsuitable for handrails or rope railings but ideal for barriers, enclosures and as a decorative element. Known historically as 'ship cordage,' Manila has better rot resistance compared to hemp and also boasts higher tensile strength.
