Braiding types

On this page, we have compiled and categorized our braided ropes based on their manufacturing techniques. Braided ropes consist of four or more strands braided together. This construction results in a rope that is supple, flexible, strong, and firm. In general, braided ropes have less stretch, offer better dimensional stability, and are easier to handle compared to laid ropes.

Additionally, tightly braided ropes provide superior dimensional stability (the ability to retain their shape) and less stretch than loosely braided ones. Certain applications require minimal stretch under tension, such as sheet lines and climbing ropes. Furthermore, 24- or 32-strand braided ropes are often used to minimize friction as the line passes through a block.
