Tarred Twines and Cordage

Tarred twines made from hemp and synthetic materials are used for various marine tasks, decorations and rigging. The surface treatment with genuine Dalbränd tar not only provides a pleasant scent but also enhances the twine's durability and weather resistance. Traditionally, tarred twines and cordage have been utilized for rigging, seamanship, knots and sail repairs. Today, their applications have expanded significantly, including use for binding plants in gardens, invitation cards, napkin rings and more.

The twines are impregnated with genuine Dalbränd tar, which increases their resistance to rot, UV light, saltwater and other external factors. Made from hemp, a natural material, the tar treatment extends the lifespan of the twine, although it will eventually deteriorate or rot.

Tarred Hemp Twine Extra Prima is crafted from the finest hemp yarns. This double-twisted twine is very stable in form and is of the highest quality, providing a comfortable handling experience. It is available in diameters ranging from 2mm to 4mm.

Tarred Cordage consists of single-stranded yarns of the highest quality. The cordage is made from 100% hemp treated with Dalbränd tar. It is used for rigging, seamanship, sewing, decorations and more. This cordage is thinner compared to twine, making it more suitable for detailed work and sewing.

Tarred Synthetic Twine is available in "Hysing" and "Märling" models. These twines are made from spun polypropylene, which offers good resistance to moisture and UV light. The synthetic yarns are treated with tar for extra durability. The Märling model typically has a diameter of around 3-3.5mm and consists of 2 strands, while the Hysing model is 3-stranded and approximately 4mm in diameter. These twines are used for lashing, rigging, sail work, decorations and more.
