Waxed whipping twine made from twisted nylon is a cord designed for a variety of uses. Waxed whipping twines are made from twisted, thin multifilament fibers of polyamide. These cords are extremely strong and resistant to UV radiation. The cords are impregnated with a special wax that further enhances their strength and UV resistance. The wax also prevents them from slipping when tied. High breaking load and very good elongation characteristics are typical of this type of cord.

Waxed whipping twine is used in many different areas. Sometimes you want to create a loop on a line without splicing it; in such cases, you can use thin, strong cords like these instead. To prevent the end of a thicker rope from "fraying," waxed whipping twine is preferably used, as its impregnation provides an incredible grip in knots and whippings. The unique ability of the cord to stretch allows knots to be tightened securely, making them practically impossible to untie. These cords are generally very well suited for lashing or securing and tying things down, as the wax prevents slipping and the stretchiness of nylon allows for tightening knots firmly, ensuring they hold without risk of coming undone.
