Protective cover is a tubular material mounted on ropes to provide extra abrasion resistance. The protective covers are made of polyester multifilament, offering strength, UV resistance and excellent abrasion properties. Some dimensions are made from fire hose and reinforced with rubber inside for added durability.

Protective covers are used on ropes that are exposed to heavy wear. Typically, in loops, extra protection is desired as the loop is often used for mooring, for example, to bollards at docks. In the loop, the rope is subjected to extra wear and to extend the lifespan of the rope, a protective cover can be added to absorb most of the abrasion, wearing out before the rope. Sometimes mooring requires some form of obstacle, preventing a straight mooring line from the boat to the attachment on land or at the dock. This can quickly damage even the most abrasion-resistant ropes and cables, but a protective cover prevents premature wear on exposed parts of the rope, acting as a shield against abrasion.

How to order? The protective cover is sold by the centimeter. For example, if you purchase 10 cm x 4 pcs, you will receive 4 separate protective covers, each with a length of 10 centimeter. The protective cover is measured automatically and a margin of error of ±10% should be expected. For example, if you need 50 centimeters of protective cover, it is recommended to order 55 centimeters to ensure you receive the correct length.
