Hampex rope is a decorative rope designed to mimic natural hemp. Available in 3- or 4-strand configurations, Hampex is made from spun PP yarn (polypropylene). The advantage of PP yarn is its superior resistance to UV light, moisture, wind and saltwater compared to natural hemp. Hampex does not rot outdoors and is easy to clean.
In appearance, it is very difficult to distinguish Hampex from real hemp, which makes it ideal for outdoor applications where hemp was previously used. It is perfect as a mooring line for wooden boats and for rigging on sailing ships if a classic look is desired.
Hampex is often used for rope railings, barriers, theater and film production lift lines, list ropes and rope fences. We stock a complete range of rope fittings and railing posts designed for rope railings. Ropes of 30-36mm are used with 38mm fittings, 26-30mm ropes with 32mm fittings and 20-24mm ropes with 25mm fittings.
The rope has moderate UV resistance and elongates approximately 20% at break. It floats in water.
How to order? Rope is sold either by the meter, spool, coil or box, depending on the available options under variants. For example, if you purchase 10 m x 4 pcs, you will receive 4 separate ropes, each with a length of 10 meters. The rope is measured automatically and a margin of error of ±10% should be expected. For example, if you need 50 meters of rope, it is recommended to order 55 meters to ensure you receive the correct length.
Right of withdrawal - under the Consumer Rights Directive, private consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of purchase. By purchasing rope by the meter, you agree to have the rope specially cut for you, meaning the right of withdrawal no longer applies.
