Product Description:

Manila rope, traditionally referred to as 'ship rigging rope,' is made from 100% manila fiber. This 3-strand rope has good rot resistance and durability. The rope is very 'sticky' and is best handled with gloves. With its golden-brown color, manila rope is one of the most beautiful ropes available. Unlike other natural fiber ropes, manila fiber is relatively rot-resistant and has good durability in outdoor applications. The fibers are also very strong.

The ropes are 3-stranded and do not float. Break stretch is approximately 15%.

Manila comes from the plant Musa textilis, a monocot species within the banana genus. Manila primarily occurs in the Philippines but can also be found in a few other countries. Historically, rope production was the main use of the fiber, but today the largest quantity goes to the paper and textile industries. Manila yarn is produced from the leaves, which are sorted, classified, dried and processed after harvesting. The manila rope we sell is 1st grade, which is the best quality of manila fiber.

How to order? Rope is sold either by the meter, spool, coil or box, depending on the available options under variants. For example, if you purchase 10 m x 4 pcs, you will receive 4 separate ropes, each with a length of 10 meters. The rope is measured automatically and a margin of error of ±10% should be expected. For example, if you need 50 meters of rope, it is recommended to order 55 meters to ensure you receive the correct length.

Right of withdrawal - under the Consumer Rights Directive, private consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of purchase. By purchasing rope by the meter, you agree to have the rope specially cut for you, meaning the right of withdrawal no longer applies.

Examples of uses:

  • Ship rigging rope
  • Mooring line
  • Rope splicing
  • Decorative rope and lists
  • Barriers and enclosures
  • Rope fencing
